THE COMIC/THE SHOW

"An epidemic of apocalyptic proportions has swept the globe, causing the dead to rise and feed on the living. In a matter of months, society has crumbled: There is no government, no grocery stores, no mail delivery, no cable TV. Rick Grimes finds himself one of the few survivors in this terrifying future. A couple months ago he was a small town cop who had never fired a shot and only ever saw one dead body. Separated from his family, he must now sort through all the death and confusion to try and find his wife and son. In a world ruled by the dead, we are forced to finally begin living."

The Walking Dead is a critically acclaimed comic book created by (the frankly, awesome) Robert Kirkman and published by the good people at Image Comics. Set in Kentucky, the series chronicles the story of a group of survivors who've banded together after the world has become overrun with zombies. The story centres around Rick Grimes, a (and excuse the cliche) "small-town cop", who awakes from a coma alone after being shot in the line of duty. He's awakened to find that the world has descended into chaos and zombies are now the highest on the food chain.
The first issues tell the story of how Rick comes to terms with the end of the world and him trying to find his family; Lori, his wife and Carl, his 7 year old son. After being lead to Atlanta, Rick not only finds his family, but finds they are in the company of his old partner (police partner that is) Shane. Without ruining the story too much, the group of survivors quickly find out that theres another threat to their well-being aside from reanimated flesh eating corpses of their friends and family. Each other. The series began in 2003 and is currently (as of June 2010) boasting over 70 issues and shows no sign of stopping in the near future.

In late 2009, the The Walking Dead was greenlit and picked up by AMC (of Mad Men and Breaking Bad fame) to be made into a TV show. The first season will air in October 2010 and will consist of 6 episodes.

About Us

Here We Remain will be a devoted Walking Dead fan-site dedicated to bringing you news, analysis, and information about the upcoming show and comic. Here you'll be able to find videos, images, interviews, reviews and recaps of episodes. "Why?" you might be asking. Why put this much effort in? Myself (Beans) and my good friend Johnson have been huge fans of the comic for many years now and are very exciting to see it going to TV as opposed to another Hollywood blockerbuster directed by Michael Bay or Stephen Sommers.

Having also been big fans of Lost for the past six years, we've found that a fan site full of discussion and information can be extremely fun and engaging. We frankly need something to fill the void.
