The Walking Dead TV Series
In August 2009 The walking dead was picked up to be made into a TV series by AMC (Breaking Bad, Mad Men). Filming for the pilot started in may and the series will air in October 2010. It will consist of six episodes.
It will be produced and directed by Frank Darabont who also directed The Green Mile and The Shawshank Redemption which both received an academy award nomination for best film
Casting news so far is that Andrew Lincoln (Teachers) has been given the lead role as Rick Grimes and Sarah Wayne Callies (Prison Break) has been cast as Ricks wife Lori Grimes.
Jon Bernthal will star as Shane Walsh who in the comic series is Rick Grimes best friend & partner at the Cythiana police station and Jeffrey DeMunn will star as Dale who is part of the group of survivors in the series.
